The Schoolhouse Program
The Schoolhouse program provides a classroom approach to learning. Students attend scheduled academic, integration, and elective classes. Classes accommodate a small number of students, generally 2 - 5, and 1:1 sessions for elective offerings are common. The Schoolhouse Program generally serves a population of students whose emotional and behavioral actions make their attendance in a traditional school setting difficult, who nonetheless need classroom-based peer interactions as a daily part of their program.
Maplehill's Schoolhouse Program occupies a renovated farmhouse that is set on 90 acres of meadows and forested hillsides on East Hill Road in Plainfield, Vt. The space provides classrooms, meeting rooms, a commercial grade kitchen, studios/workshops, a library and lounge space. Up to 20 students may be enrolled at the schoolhouse at any one time.
